Our base is at the Basweshwar School in Omerga, right in the Osmanabad district. Shri Sai Ratnganga Producer Company Limited operates out of this spot, so we are always surrounded by the sounds of the school day. It’s a very local operation. We don't have any big-city offices or high-tech equipment. It’s mostly just us, some chairs, and a lot of conversation about the local crops. Omerga is a place where farming is the main thing everyone talks about, so we fit right in. We spend our days meeting with the farmers who live nearby and trying to organize the produce so everyone gets a fair deal. We don't use any fancy business terms because they don't really mean much to us. We prefer to just talk about the weather, the seeds, and the market. Sometimes the office gets a bit messy with all the papers, but we know where everything is. It’s a very human way of doing things. We’ve all grown up in this area, so we know the challenges that come with farming in Osmanabad. We aren't here to be some big success story; we are just here to help our neighbors and ourselves get through the season. It’s honest work and we do it without any pretension. Being near the school keeps us feeling connected to the future of the village, too. Most of the people we work with are old friends or relatives.
