Our base is at House Number 162 in Pimpalgaon, which is part of the Kallam area in Osmanabad. Pranish Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited isn't a big operation with a lobby or a receptionist. It’s mostly just us sitting around a table at the house, trying to figure out the best way to handle the upcoming season. Osmanabad can be a tough place to farm because the water isn't always where you need it to be. We know every inch of these fields around Pimpalgaon. We decided to form this company because we wanted to have more of a say in how our crops are handled after they leave the ground. It’s simple work, really. We coordinate with the other farmers in the village, share what we know, and try to get a fair shake at the market. The house is always open for a talk, and there’s usually some dust on the floor from someone coming straight from the field. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just have our names and our reputation in the community. Some days are good, and some days we just worry about the clouds, but we keep at it. It’s about the community here and making sure that House 162 remains a place where local farmers can find some support and a way forward despite the many challenges of the climate.
