Kunthalgiri Women'S Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are a group of women from around Washi and Bhoom who decided to work together. Our small office is at Murlidhar Tagade’s place here in the village. It is not a big office, just a room where we sit and talk about our crops. Most of us have been farming since we were young. We deal with whatever the weather gives us. In Osmanabad, sometimes it is very dry and other times we get okay rain. We grow things like tur dal and soy. We started Kunthalgiri Women's Farmers because doing things alone was getting harder every year. Now we share ideas about seeds and fertilizers. When the harvest comes, we help each other out. It is better than going to the big market far away and not knowing what price we will get. My neighbor and I were just talking about the soil last Tuesday. It takes a lot of work to keep the fields going. We don't have fancy machines, just our hands and some old tractors. The road to Washi is a bit bumpy, but people find their way here. We are just local families trying to make a living from the land. There is no big boss here, just us women figuring it out as we go. Sometimes we have tea and discuss the next season. It is simple work, but it is our life and it keeps our families going through the year.
