Hirnyakeshi Mahila Farmer Producercompany Limited

Our company is called Hirnyakeshi Mahila Farmer Producercompany Limited. We are located in Dabhil, which is part of Ajara in the Kolhapur district. The main spot we use is Namrata Namdev Narvekar’s house, specifically House Number 251. This is a women-led group. We all live around here and have been involved in farming for most of our lives. We decided it was time to have our own company so we could manage our work more directly. It’s not easy running a business while also taking care of the home and the fields, but we do it. In Ajara, the landscape is green and the soil is good, but you still have to work hard to get a harvest. We handle the crops that grow in this part of Kolhapur. Most of our meetings happen right there at the house in Dabhil, surrounded by the same fields we work in. We don’t use any fancy talk or have big advertising. We are just local women trying to make sure our produce gets handled correctly and that we get what we need for the next season. It’s a very practical arrangement. We share the work and the responsibilities. It feels good to have something of our own. We just take things one day at a time, watching the weather and tending to the plants to make sure everything stays on track for the harvest.
