Our spot is right at Shivaji Chowk in Shirala, which is part of Latur. Gavhane Krushi Mitra Producer Company Limited is our name, but most people around here just know us as neighbors. We aren't trying to be some high-level corporate office. We just have this small place where we meet and talk about agriculture. Latur is a tough place for farming because of the heat, so we really have to stick together. Our work is mostly about helping each other with seeds, fertilizers, and figuring out where to sell what we grow. It’s a very simple setup. We don't have any polished brochures or fancy websites. Usually, you’ll find a couple of us sitting around the chowk discussing the latest prices or the weather. The name 'Krushi Mitra' means we want to be friends to the farmers, and that's really just it. We do a lot of the boring paperwork that comes with being a registered company, but our hearts are still in the soil. Sometimes it gets quite busy at the chowk, and other times it's quiet enough to hear the birds. We don't really have a big plan other than keeping things running for another season. If you're passing through Latur and hit Shivaji Chowk, you'll see where we are. It’s just a practical, local business run by people who know what it’s like to work the land and keep things moving.
