Dhanvantarikatyayani Satyanarayan Mahilafarmer Producer Company Limited is based at House Number 45 in Pokharni. We are a local operation here in the Parbhani area where we all know each other and work together. Most of the women involved have been farming their whole lives on this land. We decided to put our names together to make this company work for all of us. Our office is just a regular house where we keep our files and meet up to talk about the business. There’s no big sign or glass windows like the shops in the city. We deal with the everyday realities of agriculture, like seeds and rain and waiting for the harvest times. Sometimes the paperwork gets a little confusing, but we sit down and help each other figure it out. We aren't trying to be a huge corporation or anything like that. We just want to handle our farm produce better than we did before. Living in Pokharni means we are very close to the land we work on every day. We don't use fancy talk or marketing tricks to get attention. We just tell it like it is. If the crop is good, we are all happy. If the market is down, we have to sit together and figure out what to do next. It’s a lot of responsibility, but doing it as a group makes it feel a bit easier for everyone. We spend our days mostly in the fields or at the house finishing up the records.
