Up in the hills of Chikhaldara, we have Chandrabhaga Fed Farmer Producer Company Limited. Our spot is at Hirdamal, Gat No 4, at Pravin G Jamkar’s place. If you’ve ever been to this part of Amravati, you know it’s a bit of a climb and the air is different up here. We started this because the farmers in this hilly region have a different set of problems than the ones down in the plains. Getting things to market from Chikhaldara is a real task. We spend a lot of our time just figuring out the logistics of moving crates down the winding roads. The office isn’t much to look at, just a room with some desks and a lot of papers scattered around. We don't use big words or try to act like we are from some big city firm. We are just locals who grew up here and know the land. Sometimes the internet is slow because of the location, so we do a lot of things the old-fashioned way with pens and notebooks. It’s a group effort, and everyone puts in what they can. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure the families farming around Hirdamal can keep their heads above water. It's a quiet life, mostly, until harvest time comes around and then it's all hands on deck until the last truck leaves.
