Utsav Mandap

If you walk down Sector 16 on the main Bawana Road, you will eventually hit the Bandi Nehar Bridge. We are right near there in the Barwala area. This part of the city is always growing and there is a lot of construction going on. Our mandap is basically a big open space that we dress up when someone has a function. It is a lot of physical labor, honestly. We are constantly loading and unloading poles, fabric, and lights. The wind coming off the open areas around Barwala can be a bit much sometimes, so we have to make sure everything is tied down tight. We don't have a fancy reception desk. Usually, you’ll find one of us walking around with a clipboard or checking the generator. It gets very dusty on Bawana Road because of all the trucks, so we are always cleaning the chairs. People from the nearby sectors know us because we’ve been in this spot for a while. It’s a local business through and through. We don’t have a big corporate team. It is just a few of us making sure the weddings and parties have a place to happen. The bridge is the best landmark to tell people when they get lost. It is a simple life here, just working day to day and hoping the weather stays clear for the outdoor events.
