Up on the first floor at No. 2672 in Hudson Lines, you’ll find our office for Urbandave Designs Private Limited. It’s a relatively quiet spot compared to some of the main roads, which helps when we are trying to think of new designs. The office is pretty basic. We have our computers, some drawing tablets, and way too many sketches pinned to the walls. We aren't a big agency with a lobby or a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just lets people in. We spend a lot of time arguing over colors or layouts, but it’s all part of the process. Hudson Lines has a good feel to it, and we like being on the first floor because we can see what’s going on outside without being right on the sidewalk. Some of us have been working together for years, so we know each other's habits pretty well. We don’t try to sound like some big city firm. We’re just designers who like making things look right. Sometimes a project takes longer than we thought, or a client changes their mind, and we just have to start over from the beginning. That’s just the nature of design work. We keep the coffee pot going and keep at it until the job is done. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s our setup and it works for us. We just like making things.
