Our shop is tucked away in the Dsiidc Industrial Area over in Narela. We are at D-1608, which is right in the thick of all the manufacturing units and warehouses that fill up this part of town. It is usually quite a trek for anyone coming from central Delhi, but for the folks working around here, it is just another part of the daily grind. Uttam Power Tools is mostly about the sound of metal and the smell of industrial oil. We spend our days surrounded by drills, saws, and all kinds of heavy-duty equipment that builders and factory owners need. It’s a dusty place, honestly. We don’t have a fancy front office with air conditioning that works all the time. Instead, we have shelves piled high with boxes and spare parts that we’ve gathered over the years. Most of our time goes into checking stock or helping a customer find a very specific part for a machine that broke down mid-shift. The mornings start early with tea and a look at what orders need to go out. The Narela sun can be brutal in the summer, making the metal roofs of the industrial area hum with heat. We just keep the fans running and stay busy with the tools. It is a straightforward business where we focus on what is in front of us. We know the local guys who run the nearby units, and they know where to find us when things stop working.
