The Terraces

The Terraces is located over in Rani Bagh, at Wz-1035. If you've ever spent time in this part of Delhi, you know it's a crowded spot with lots of shops and people moving around. Our building is right in the middle of all that noise. We mostly just keep busy with the daily chores that come with running a place like this. The name sounds a bit more than what it is, but it’s really just our spot where we handle things. We have a few rooms and some space, and we try to keep the dust off the furniture, which is hard in Delhi. The neighborhood is full of life, especially in the evenings when the markets are full. Sometimes the deliveries get stuck in the narrow lanes, so we have to go out and meet the drivers. It’s a bit of a scramble every day. We don’t really do big advertisements. Most people find us because they need to be in Rani Bagh for work or family. We spend a lot of our time talking to the neighbors and making sure the front gate is locked at night. The plumbing acts up sometimes, or a bulb flickers, and we just handle it as it happens. It’s not a corporate office with suits; it’s just us in our regular clothes trying to make sure everything stays functional for the guests who come through. There is always someone around to help, but we don't do things in a formal way.
