The Gifts Basket

You can find The Gifts Basket at Shop Number 2 in the B Block Market, which is the DDA market in Pushpanjali Enclave, Pitampura. It’s a local neighborhood market where people come for their daily groceries. Our shop is small and usually smells like dry grass from the wicker baskets we use. We keep piles of baskets in different sizes stacked against the back wall. There is a lot of cellophane and shiny paper lying around the cutting table. We spend hours arranging things so they don't move around during transport. Sometimes the floor gets slippery with bits of ribbon. It’s a very local feel here. Neighbors often stop by just to say hello while they’re out shopping. We don’t have any fancy glass displays or high-end lighting. It’s just a basic shop with wooden shelves. Pitampura has a lot of traffic, but our little corner in Pushpanjali Enclave is a bit more tucked away. We handle everything ourselves, from picking the items to tying the final bow. Sometimes the tape dispenser breaks and we have to use scissors for everything. It’s not a high-tech business. We just use our hands and try to make things look neat. The back room is where we keep the extra stock of mugs and snacks that go into the hampers. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day in the DDA market.
