Siddharat Vegetable

Siddharat Vegetable is located over in the SM Industrial Area, right opposite Jahangirpuri. We are in the E4 block, which is part of the Vertical Garment Export building. It’s a bit of a strange mix, having vegetables in an industrial zone like this, but it works for our distribution. The area is always crowded with trucks and workers from the nearby garment factories. We get our shipments in very early in the morning, usually while it’s still dark out. That’s when most of the heavy lifting happens. We spend our time sorting through crates and making sure everything looks okay to go out to the local markets. The floor is often wet from washing things down, and it stays cool inside which is good for the produce. We aren’t really a fancy shop where you’d come to browse. It’s more of a hub for moving stuff from one place to another. Our team is small, mostly just a few guys who have been doing this for years. We don't use any high-tech systems, just some notebooks and a lot of manual labor. It’s a lot of physical work, and your back definitely feels it by the end of the shift. We just keep to ourselves and focus on getting the crates loaded onto the vans. It’s noisy and busy, but that’s just how the industrial area is. We’ve gotten used to the constant hum of the machines next door. It’s just how we make our living.
