We are over in Shakurpur at E/365, not too far from the Samrat Cinema. If you are walking from the cinema, it only takes a few minutes to get to our building. This is a BPO, so it is mostly people with headsets on talking to folks in different places. It is a busy environment. We have rows of computers and the lights stay on for a long time, especially since we have shifts that go late into the night. It is not a fancy corporate headquarters with glass elevators. It is a functional space where people come to earn a living. We have a small area where people can heat up their food or have a quick smoke break outside. The neighborhood of Shakurpur is always alive with people going to work or coming back from the market. We have had to fix the air conditioning a couple of times this year because it gets so hot in the afternoons. Our team is a mix of young people and some who have been in the BPO business for a decade. We do not have a lot of rules about how to speak, as long as the work is getting finished correctly. It is a plain building but it serves its purpose for us. We just keep our heads down and handle the calls as they come in. It is a job that pays the bills. We stick together and get through the shifts one by one.
