Karsha International

Our office is at 645 in Dr. Mukherjee Nagar. If you’ve been to this part of Delhi, you know it’s full of students and books everywhere. Karsha International is tucked into a building among all that activity. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but once you’re inside, it’s our own little space. We spend most of our time on the phones or looking at computer screens. The walls are covered in calendars and notes we’ve pinned up over the months. It’s not a large place, but we make the most of it. There’s a small pantry area where we make tea, which is pretty much the fuel for the whole day. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, with new shops opening and closing, but we’ve stayed put at number 645. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit and we just wait it out, chatting until it comes back on. It’s a very human way to work, I think. We don't have fancy uniforms or a big HR department. It’s just a few of us making sure the exports are handled and the paperwork doesn't get lost. In the evenings, the street gets really busy with people coming out for food, and that’s usually when we start packing up. It’s a good spot for us, even if the parking is a nightmare. We just try to get through the daily tasks without too much stress.
