Chakit Singhal

I work out of an office in Netaji Subhash Place, specifically at room 908 in the Subhash Place area. It is a big building with a lot of glass and elevators that seem to take forever during the lunch rush. My name is Chakit Singhal and I spend most of my day sitting at a desk surrounded by papers and a computer screen that never seems to turn off. The view from the window is mostly other buildings and the metro line, which you can hear humming if you listen closely enough. It gets quite loud in this part of town with all the traffic and people moving around for their meetings. I usually have a mug of tea that’s gone cold because I got distracted by a phone call or some filing. This isn't one of those places with a fancy lobby or free snacks, just a practical workspace where I get things done. I deal with a lot of documents and people coming in for appointments throughout the week. Sometimes it feels like I am just moving piles of paper from one side of the desk to the other, but it all needs to happen. I started here a while back and the routine hasn't changed much. I just focus on the task in front of me and try to get home before the evening traffic gets too bad. It’s a regular job in a regular office building.
