This place is tucked away in Arpora, behind Banyan Groove on Oillo Vaddo. It’s an old house, number 58, and it’s got that quiet feel you only get in the backstreets of Goa. We spend a lot of our time making sure the rooms are ready for whoever is arriving next. The humidity can be tough on the building, so there’s always something that needs a bit of paint or a quick fix. We’re not right on the beach, so it stays a bit calmer here than the main parts of Calangute or Baga. You can hear the birds in the trees around the property. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see us eating our lunch in the common area or sweeping the porch. We have a few staff members who have been with us for years. They know the shortcuts to the local market and where to get the best fish. The garden needs a lot of water in the dry season, so we’re often out there with the hose. Guests come here when they want to avoid the big hotels. It’s practical and basic, with clean sheets and a place to park. We don’t have a big front desk with people in uniforms. Usually, someone is just hanging around nearby to give you the keys. It’s a slow life here, and we like it that way. We don't do anything fancy, just standard rooms and a bit of peace.
