Hotel Golden Goa

Being located on Dr. Atmaram Borkar Road puts us right in the thick of things in Panjim. It’s not the part of Goa with the big sandy beaches and coconut trees right outside the window, but it’s where the real city life happens. We see people rushing to work and government offices all day long. The building is older, and you can tell by the way the windows are shaped and how the hallways feel. We don't have a big corporate team running things; it’s mostly just us and a few helpers who have been here since they were young men. Sometimes the humidity makes the doors swell up a little, so you have to give them a good push to close properly. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors because of all the dust that comes off the main road. The rooms are what you’d expect for an older place in the city—nothing too flashy, but the beds are decent enough for a night’s sleep after a long day of walking around. We usually sit near the entrance in the evenings when it cools down a bit. It’s a plain place for people who need to stay in the city for a few days without needing anything fancy. We just try to make sure the water is running and the lights stay on for everyone, which takes a bit of effort in this weather.
