Joia-De-Goa Riverside Resort

You can find us at S.No.2 in Panelim, tucked away in the Ilhas area off St. Pedro. We are right by the riverside, which is the main reason we picked this spot. Joia-De-Goa isn't one of those massive, shiny resorts you see in the travel magazines. We are much smaller and more quiet. My family has lived in this part of Goa for a long time, and we wanted to open a place that felt like a real home. The river flows right by, and it’s very peaceful in the mornings when the birds are out. We have a few rooms and a small area where people can sit and look at the water. It’s not a fancy operation. We do a lot of the maintenance and cleaning ourselves. Sometimes the grass grows a bit too fast or a door squeaks, but we fix it when we can. We don't have a big reception desk with people in suits. Usually, you'll just find one of us hanging around near the entrance. People come here when they want to get away from the crowded beaches and the loud music of North Goa. We just provide a bed, some local food, and a view of the river. It’s a simple way of running things, but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. We just like our little riverside corner in Panelim.
