Divine Mercy School

This school is right in Mapusa, which is always a busy town. Divine Mercy has been around for a while, and we’re located in a spot that’s fairly easy to reach for most people living nearby. It’s a school where children spend their early years and move up through the grades. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, which is typical for Goa. We have classrooms that get plenty of breeze, especially during the monsoon months. It’s not a fancy institution; it’s more of a place where kids feel comfortable and at home. You’ll see parents chatting at the gates every afternoon while waiting for their little ones. We follow the regular curriculum and try to keep things simple. The teachers are mostly people from around town who have been teaching for ages. We have some events throughout the year, like sports days or small programs, which get a bit loud but are mostly fun. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s what’s happening inside that counts. We focus on making sure the kids know their numbers and letters well. It’s just a neighborhood school where everyone knows each other. Nothing too complicated or corporate about it. We just open up every morning and do our best to help the kids learn their lessons for the day. Sometimes things are a bit messy, but that's just part of working with hundreds of energetic children every day. The playground gets a few puddles when it rains.
