Suhail Zari Arts

If you walk down Gali No. 3 in Moonga Nagar, you’ll find us at number 207. Suhail Zari Arts has been part of this neighborhood for quite a bit. The street is pretty narrow, so it’s mostly foot traffic and the occasional bike squeezing past. Inside, things are usually a bit cramped because we have a lot of materials lying around. There’s always the smell of thread and cloth in the air. We don't have a big showroom with lights and fancy displays. Instead, we have work tables and shelves stacked high with whatever we are currently working on. Most days are spent sitting and focusing on the details of the zari work. It’s quiet inside compared to the noise of the street outside where kids are playing or neighbors are talking. We get a lot of light from the front door when it’s open. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we're usually too busy to worry about that. People from the area stop by just to say hello or ask how the work is going. It’s a very local way of doing business. We know everyone on the gali, and they know us. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a big order to finish, and the street gets really peaceful then. It’s just a simple workshop where we do what we know how to do best without any fuss or complicated systems. The fans hum all day while we work on the embroidery.
