Aw Zari Arts

Aw Zari Arts is located in Seelampur, at Street No 3, C 726. The streets around here are quite narrow and you have to know where you are going to find us. It’s a place where you can hear the sounds of work from every doorway. We have a small workshop area where the light is usually bright so we can see what we are doing. It’s not the kind of place with air conditioning and fancy carpets. Instead, we have sturdy tables and lots of materials scattered around. There is always a smell of something being worked on, and the floor is usually covered in little bits of thread or fabric by the end of the day. We are just a group of people who enjoy working with our hands. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We sit and talk while we work, mostly about our families or what we’re going to have for dinner. The neighbors are all doing similar things, so there is a sense of community in Street No 3. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just our physical location where the real work happens. It’s a bit messy and crowded, but it’s our space and we’ve been here for years. We just keep doing the same things every day and it works for us.
