Shanti Art Centre

Shanti Art Centre is tucked away in Vishwas Nagar, specifically in Gali No 12 of Brahmapuri. It is on Pandav Road, which can be a bit tricky to find if you aren't from around here. We have been working out of this space at 26/34 for a long time. It smells like wood shavings and glass cleaner most of the time. We do a lot of framing and art work for the local families. People bring in old photos of their grandparents or new paintings they bought on vacation. We help them pick a frame that looks okay without making a big fuss about it. The shop is narrow, and we have to be careful not to bump into the glass sheets leaning against the walls. It is a quiet kind of work. We spend our days measuring things and cutting wood. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to say hello or ask for the time. We aren't trying to be some high-end gallery. We just like making things look nice for people's homes. The light in the morning is the best for seeing the colors correctly. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the tools. It’s a steady job and we like being part of the Vishwas Nagar community. There is always something interesting to look at when a new customer walks through the door with a project they really care about.
