Krishna Paan Shop

We are located right in the middle of the Mangal Bazar area in Gokul Puri. If you’ve been to the market on a Tuesday, you know how packed it gets with people looking for deals. Krishna Paan Shop is just a small spot, nothing too big or flashy. I spend most of my day standing behind the counter, folding leaves and mixing the ingredients. There’s always a bit of lime paste on my fingers and the smell of sweet supari in the air. People stop by for a quick paan or maybe just some tobacco or a bottle of water while they are out shopping. It’s a lot of chatting with neighbors and watching the world go by. Sometimes the kids from the street come by for candy too. It’s not a complicated business, just about knowing what each regular customer likes in their paan. Some want it extra sweet, others want more spice. I try to remember who likes what. The stall gets a bit dusty because of the road, so I’m always wiping things down with an old cloth. In the evenings, it gets really busy when people are heading home from work. It’s loud with all the traffic and the vendors shouting their prices, but it feels like home. I’ve been doing this for a long time and I don't see myself doing anything else. It’s just a small paan shop in a busy market.
