Sharma Caterers

If you walk down Street Number 14-A in Gangotri Vihar, you will probably smell the food before you see our sign. We are Sharma Caterers, based out of K-32/24 here in Bhajanpura. Our kitchen is almost always active, especially when there is a wedding or a big local festival coming up. It is a noisy place with the clanging of large metal pots and the sound of knives hitting chopping boards. We started this business right here in the neighborhood because we like to cook for people. It is not a restaurant where you sit down to eat; it is more of a production hub where we prepare everything for events. There are usually big sacks of flour and crates of vegetables sitting by the door every morning. Our staff is mostly made up of local people who know how to handle the heat in a busy kitchen. The floors are tiled and we spend a lot of time washing them down after the cooking is done. It can get pretty cramped when we have five or six big orders going out at once. We don't use fancy equipment, just the traditional large burners and heavy pans that have served us well for years. It is a lot of hard work and late nights, but that is the nature of catering. We just focus on getting the food ready on time and making sure there is enough for everyone. It is a hectic life but we enjoy it.
