Our business is Subash Chand & Sons, and you can find us at 1670 in Chandni Chowk. Being in this part of Delhi means everything is always crowded and moving fast. We’ve been in this same spot for decades. The building is quite old, with high ceilings and narrow stairs that are a bit steep. We don’t have a modern office or anything like that. It’s just a traditional setup with a lot of paperwork and old wooden desks. We mostly handle trade and wholesale stuff, so there are always sacks and boxes being moved in and out by the laborers. It’s very loud outside with the rickshaws and the people shouting, but inside it feels a bit more tucked away. We start our day early with a prayer and some tea before the chaos of the market really kicks in. We don't have a logo or a fancy brand. Everyone just knows us by the name. Sometimes the phone lines go down, or the internet is slow, so we just do things the old-fashioned way. We know the other families in the lane quite well since we’ve all been here for generations. It’s a lot of tradition and just getting the work done day after day. It’s not a polished business, just a real one in the heart of the city. We keep a few chairs for visitors, but they’re mostly covered in ledgers.
