Shri Padmavati Metals

We are based over in Shalimar Bagh West at A-92. It is not the kind of place you would come to for a fancy meeting. It is mostly a storage space filled with metal sheets and rods. My family has been doing this for a long time. I took over a few years ago and haven't changed much. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep all the receipts and ledgers. The fan there makes a clicking sound that we just ignore now. It gets really busy when the big trucks arrive to drop off supplies. The street is narrow, so it can be a real struggle to get them parked right. We spend a lot of time just moving things from one side of the room to the other. It is heavy work and your back definitely feels it by the end of the day. We don't do any big advertising or have a salesperson. People just find us through word of mouth or because they saw the sign while passing by. Some days are very quiet and we just drink tea and read the paper. Then suddenly three people show up at once. We don't have a fancy website or any of that. We just handle the metal and try to keep things moving. It’s a basic business and we like it that way.
