Saraswati Trading Company

Working in Khari Baoli is an experience you do not really forget. Saraswati Trading Company is located right at 566, Katra Ishwar Bhawan, and if you know this part of Chandni Chowk, you know how crowded it gets. Every morning is a scramble to get the shutters up before the lanes fill with carts and people. We have been in this spot for years, surrounded by the smell of spices and the sound of shouting vendors. The space is a bit tight, but we have learned how to stack everything just right to make it fit. It is an old building, so the walls have a lot of character, and the stairs are a little steep. My grandfather used to say this area never sleeps. We spend most of our day talking to regular customers and writing out receipts by hand. It feels more personal that way. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour, and we just sit and talk while we wait for it to come back. We do not have a website or anything like that, just our phone and this little shop. The tea man knows exactly when we need our afternoon break. It is a messy, busy place, but it is home for us. We just keep doing what we do, day after day, and that seems to work out fine. There is always something to do and someone to talk to here.
