Our office is right in the heart of things near Jama Masjid. We’re in Somani Market at Hauz Quazi, specifically number 4902. If you know this area, you know how incredibly busy it is. There’s a lot of history and a lot of noise outside our doors every single day. We work as S S Engineers & Consultants. It’s a lot of technical talk and looking at blueprints or project plans. The market outside is always bustling with people selling parts and tools, which actually fits what we do quite well. Our office is a bit cramped because we have so many old catalogs and technical manuals piled up on the shelves. It’s an old building, so the walls are thick but the wiring can be a bit temperamental. We’ve been here a long time. You can smell the food from the stalls nearby around lunchtime, which is always a distraction. Most days involve us sitting around the big table discussing various engineering problems. It’s not a fancy place with glass walls; it’s a real working office where people get their hands dirty, metaphorically speaking. We deal with a lot of local clients who just drop in because they’re already in Somani Market for something else. It’s a fast-paced environment but we’ve learned to navigate the crowds and the chaos over the years. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes our way.
