Out here in Pooth Khurd, things are a bit raw. We are at Khasra No. 154/377. It’s not the easiest place to find if you don’t know the area. We tell people to look for Petu Ram Restaurant and then head to the backside of GR International School. It’s a typical Bawana industrial setup. The roads are a bit bumpy and there’s always construction going on somewhere. Our engineering shed is big and drafty. We have a lot of heavy tools and steel lying around. It’s a noisy place once the lathes start spinning. We usually start our day early to beat the heat. Lunch is often something quick from the restaurant nearby. We don't have fancy leather chairs or a boardroom. Most of our meetings happen while standing around a machine. The walls are covered in diagrams and old calendars. It’s a practical workspace for people who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We have a small corner with a computer for the accounts, but that’s about it for the office side. Sometimes the dust from the empty plots nearby gets into everything. We just blow it off and keep going. It’s just us doing engineering work in a village that turned into an industrial zone. We’ve been through a lot of rainy seasons here where the street floods, but we always manage to keep the shop open.
