Rajender Kumar & Co has its home in Chawri Bazar at 908/3. If you have ever been to this part of Old Delhi, you know how the buildings are tall and the lanes are packed with history. We operate out of an older space that has been around for a long time. We mostly deal with trading different materials, often related to the paper or hardware industries that the bazar is famous for. Our day starts early when the rickshaws and carts begin moving through the narrow streets. The office is often full of ledgers and samples of the items we trade. It is a very hands-on type of environment where we are constantly talking to other traders and customers who drop by to check on their orders. We don't have a modern website or a social media team; we just rely on the relationships we have built over decades in this market. The stairs up to our place are a bit steep, and the walls show the age of the building, but it suits us just fine. We spend a lot of time on the telephone, coordinating with people across the city. It can be quite hot in the summer and very cold in the winter, but that’s just part of working in this area. We focus on being reliable and making sure the goods get where they need to go. It’s a busy, noisy, and honest way to make a living in the heart of the city.
