Radhey Shyam Ram Kishan

Radhey Shyam Ram Kishan is located right at Plot No. 188-B in Katra Mashroo. If you have ever been down to Dariba Kalan, you know how packed those narrow streets get every single day. We are quite close to the Red Fort so the tourists are always walking by even though they don't always come in to buy anything. The shop has been in the family for ages now. It’s named after my grandfather and his brother. We mostly deal with what we’ve always dealt with since they started. The space is a bit tight because we have so much stock piled up near the back of the room. The lighting isn't the greatest but we know where everything is kept even in the dark. My cousin helps out on the weekends when it gets really crowded with shoppers. Sometimes we just sit on the stools outside and watch the rickshaws go by when business is slow. The old wooden door still squeaks no matter how much oil we put on the hinges. It's a part of the character I guess. Living and working near the Red Fort means there is always noise. You get used to the shouting of the street vendors and the bike bells. We don't have a computer system for billing, we just write it all down in the big paper registers. It’s worked for fifty years so we don't see much reason to change it now. It gets very hot in June but the thick walls keep it okay. We just keep going.
