Oberai Engineering Works

Oberai Engineering Works is located at B-49 in the G.T. Karnal Road Industrial Area. Being in an industrial zone means there is always the sound of machinery and trucks in the background. It is a busy place to be. Our unit is basically a large shed where we do all our engineering work. The floors are concrete and usually have a bit of grease or metal shavings on them, which is normal for this kind of place. We have our machines lined up and we spend most of our hours making sure everything is running right. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we have some big industrial fans that help a bit. People in the neighboring units are mostly doing similar work, so we often help each other out if someone needs a tool or a bit of advice. We don’t have a fancy front office. There is a small corner with a table where we keep the logs and take calls. The yard outside is where the raw materials are kept until we are ready to use them. It’s a messy process, but the stuff we make is solid and does what it’s supposed to. We’ve been at B-49 for a long time and the address is well-known in this part of the industrial estate. It is just a place where people work hard and get things done without making a big fuss about it. We stay until the job is finished, usually heading home late.
