Malhotra Trading Co. is tucked away at No. 1038 in Gandhi Gali. We are right in the heart of Tilak Bazar, not far from the old railway station. If you have ever been to this part of the city, you know how crowded and lively it gets. There are people everywhere and goods moving on carts all day long. Our shop is just like many others here, filled with stock and the smell of old paper and goods. We have been trading here for a long time. It’s a family-style environment even though we aren't all related. We know our neighbors and we know the people who come to buy from us. We don't have a website that does anything fancy. Most of our business happens face to face or over a quick phone call. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. The streets are narrow and sometimes the rain makes things difficult, but we just keep the shutters up and keep going. We don't spend money on advertising because people know where we are. We just try to be fair and get through the day's list of tasks. It’s a lot of manual work, counting boxes and checking lists. We like the buzz of the bazar. It’s a real place with real people working hard every single day. The old station nearby always reminds us how long this market has been here.
