About Krishna Crockery – Housewares & Supplies in North Delhi
Krishna Crockery is located at 91, Kucha Setaram. It’s right by Madari Gate. If you know the old parts of the city, you know how narrow the lanes can get. It’s a place where history feels very close. Our shop has shelves lined with plates, bowls, and all sorts of glassware. Some of it is quite delicate, so I’m always telling people to be careful where they step. The floor is old stone and it stays cool even when the sun is beating down outside. Madari Gate is a landmark that everyone knows, which helps people find us. I’ve been working here for a long time and I’ve seen the market change. New shops come and go, but we stay put at number 91. It gets very crowded in the afternoons. You can hear the sounds of the market stalls and the occasional donkey or cart passing by. We don't have any fancy computers to track everything. I mostly use a notebook and a pen. It works for us. There is a certain smell to the shop—a mix of old cardboard and dust. It might not look like much from the outside, but we have everything a kitchen needs if you look hard enough. Customers often come in looking for a specific replacement for a broken dish or a simple gift for a wedding. We just take it one day at a time here and hope for the best.
