Jolly Engineering Works. We’re situated on G T Karnal Road, in the SMA Industrial Estate at E-43. This is a heavy-duty area with lots of factories and big warehouses. The road outside is a major route, so there are always big trucks passing by. Our workshop is a decent size and we have several heavy machines for our engineering tasks. It’s a loud place once everything gets turned on in the morning. We work with metal mostly, cutting and shaping it to whatever specifications we are given. The air smells like oil and hot steel. We don’t have any fancy signs or a polished lobby. You just walk in through the main shutters and you’re in the middle of the work area. Our workers have a lot of experience and they don’t need much supervision. They just get on with it. We’ve been here for a good number of years and have seen the industrial estate change quite a bit. It’s a practical place for a practical business. We don’t spend money on things we don’t need. We just keep our machines maintained and try to keep our customers satisfied with the work we deliver. It’s a long day usually, but seeing a finished part ready to go out makes it worth it. Sometimes we have to work through the weekends to meet a deadline.
