Down here at Kewal Park in Azadpur, we spend most of our days with scissors and combs in hand. The shop is at A-65 on Guru Nanak Marg, so it's a pretty easy spot to find if you're in the neighborhood. It gets busy on weekends when everyone wants a haircut at the same time. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes there's hair on the floor and a bit of a wait for a chair. That's just part of the job. Most of the people who come in are regulars from around this part of Delhi. We talk about the weather or the traffic while we work on their hair. It’s a hair and beauty place, so there’s always the smell of shampoo and various products in the air. We’ve got a few mirrors and chairs lined up against the wall. Some days are quieter, and we just sit and chat among ourselves until someone walks through the door. It’s not some high-end spa with soft music and candles; it’s just a place to get your hair done and feel a bit better when you walk out. The staff here knows their way around a pair of shears and they've been doing it for years. We've been in this spot for a while, and the street outside is always noisy with people heading to the market nearby. We just focus on what the person in the chair wants. It’s honest work, and we like the community here in Azadpur. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a quick break together.
