Bankey Hair Saloon

If you go into the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, specifically towards Fatehpuri, you will find Kuncha Ghasiram. That is where Bankey Hair Saloon is located at 266/5. This area of Delhi is incredibly old and always crowded with people, carts, and rickshaws. Our shop is small and fits right into the old-style buildings of Kuncha Ghashiram. We have the classic barber chairs and big mirrors that have been there for years. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or modern music. Usually, there is just the sound of the street and the clinking of scissors. We spend our days doing haircuts and shaves for the men who work in the market or live in the flats above the shops. The address 266/5 is easy to miss if you aren't looking closely because the lanes are so tight. We often have a cup of tea while waiting for the next person to sit down. It’s a very local way of living. There is no corporate structure here, just a traditional hair saloon that has seen the neighborhood change over time. The floor is often covered in hair until we get a chance to sweep it between customers. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. People come to us because we have been here in Chandni Chowk for so long and they know what to expect when they walk through the door. It's a humble spot but it's our livelihood and we keep at it every day.
