Our business, Jain Metal & Steel (India), is at C-34 in the Wazirpur Industrial Area. Wazirpur is a well-known spot for anyone dealing with metal. We have been part of this landscape for many years. The building is old and has that specific smell of grease and iron. We spend our days surrounded by stacks of metal and steel products. It is heavy work and it makes your hands calloused. We have a crew that has been with us through thick and thin. They know how to handle the materials without much instruction. We don't have a big corporate office. Our office is just a corner of the warehouse with a few chairs and a desk covered in papers. The light inside isn't always the best, but we know where everything is. In the afternoons, the sun hits the metal through the high windows and makes the whole place glow for a bit. We take our breaks together and talk about the news or our families. It is a very human place. We are not interested in being the biggest company out there. We just want to do our jobs correctly and keep the place running for another year. It is a simple goal, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday every single week.
