Hindustan Copper Ltd.

I spend my days on the 5th floor of the South Tower at Scope Minar. Laxmi Nagar is a busy district center, and the view from up here shows just how many people are moving around down there at any given moment. Working for Hindustan Copper Ltd. means being part of a big operation, but in this office, it feels like any other job. The elevators take forever in the morning, so I usually try to get here a bit early. My desk is covered in reports and spreadsheets about ore and production numbers. It is quiet inside compared to the traffic noise outside. We have a small pantry where we get our coffee, and that's where most of the actual talk happens. It’s not all high-level meetings; mostly it’s just us figuring out how to manage the movement of materials and the supplies. The air conditioning is always a bit too cold, so I keep a sweater on the back of my chair. We deal with people from all over, but our daily world is just these four walls and the desks. Sometimes we look out at the other towers and wonder if they’re as busy as we are. By five or six, the sun starts setting behind the city buildings, and we pack up our bags. The commute back through the district center is always a struggle with the crowds, but that’s just part of the routine we have.
