Ganga Steels

Down at B-73 in Wazirpur, things stay pretty hectic for Ganga Steels. This industrial area is always on the move and we are right in the thick of it. The morning starts with a cup of tea from the stall at the corner while we wait for the staff to arrive. Once we open up, it’s all about moving metal. We have stacks of stuff that need sorting and it feels like the pile never actually gets smaller. The floor is grey concrete and has plenty of scratches from years of dragging heavy items across it. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just some old fans that have seen better days. When the rain comes, the street outside gets a bit muddy and we have to be careful about tracking it inside. Our neighbors are mostly other steel guys and we all help each other out if a crane breaks or someone needs a specific tool. It’s a community of sorts, even if it looks a bit gritty from the outside. We don’t spend money on glossy brochures or big ads. Most people hear about us from word of mouth or just see the sign when they are driving past. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on. We try to keep things organized but in a place like this, a little bit of mess is just part of the routine. The work is hard but we are used to it.
