Friends Metal Products

Kucha Harjasmal is a narrow place, but that’s where you’ll find 1135, our little shop for Friends Metal Products. We are right in the middle of the Bazar Sitaram area. It’s loud, it’s crowded, and there is always something happening outside the door. We’ve been working with metal for a long time here. The shop is small and it’s packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of metal goods. You have to watch your step when you walk in because there’s usually a pile of stuff waiting to be moved. We don’t have a website or a fancy catalog. If someone needs something, they usually just stop by or call us on the landline. We know most of the people on this street by name. The work is physical. We’re moving heavy things, cutting metal, and organizing stock all day. It gets very dusty, and your hands are almost always dirty by lunchtime. We don’t use complicated management software; we use a notebook and a pen. It’s how we’ve always done it. Sometimes the deliveries are a bit late because the streets are so cramped, but everything eventually gets through. We just keep our heads down and focus on the metal. It’s a simple life in a busy part of town, just doing the work that comes our way every morning. We don't need much else to keep going.
