Cooker Hi Cooker

This shop is located at 4752/8 in Deputy Ganj, right in the middle of Sadar Bazar. If you know Sadar, you know how packed it gets. There are people and carts everywhere, and noise is just part of the day. We focus on pressure cookers and spare parts for them. It’s a specialized kind of thing. My father started this a long time ago, and now I’m the one spending my days here. The shelves are filled with gaskets, whistles, and handles. People bring in their old cookers that have stopped working right, and we see if we can fix them or if they need something new. It’s a narrow shop, like most in Deputy Ganj. You have to watch your step because there are often boxes on the floor. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of old fans that hum all day. It gets hot in the summer, but that’s just life in the market. We talk to all sorts of people, from housewives to guys running small roadside stalls. Everyone needs a good cooker. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to close up and do it. It’s better to stay open. We know the parts inside out. If a lid doesn't fit, we usually know why just by looking at it. It’s a busy, cramped, and noisy place, but it’s home for us. We just keep the inventory ready.
