Himalaya Footwears

Our shop, Himalaya Footwears, is located at 5235-36 in Ballimaran, which is part of the old Chandni Chowk area. We are quite close to the Red Fort, which is a good landmark, but the lanes here are so narrow and crowded that it can still be hard to find us. We sell all kinds of shoes and sandals. The shop is small and we have boxes stacked up everywhere possible. It feels a bit cramped, but we know exactly where every pair is kept. There is always a lot of noise outside from the rickshaws and the people walking by. We have been in Ballimaran for a long time and the building we are in is quite old. We don’t have any fancy lights or big glass windows for displays. It is just a regular local shoe store. During the festival seasons, the whole area gets so packed that you can hardly move on the street. We just stay busy serving the people who squeeze into the shop. Sometimes we sit on a small stool outside when things slow down, but that doesn't happen often in this part of Delhi. We handle everything ourselves, from moving the stock to talking to the customers. It is a noisy and chaotic way to work, but it is the heart of the city and we wouldn't know what to do anywhere else.
