You will find Bhagwan Sahai & Co at 3695 in Chawri Bazar. It is one of those old parts of the city where the lanes are narrow and you have to watch your step for rickshaws. Our building has been here for ages and the walls show it. Inside, it’s mostly shelves reaching up to the ceiling filled with stock. We deal with a lot of heavy items so the floor is a bit worn out. It’s always loud outside with people shouting and bells ringing. We have a small desk where we sit and take orders. Most of our customers have been coming to us for decades, sometimes even their fathers used to buy from here. We don't have a big neon sign or a fancy lobby. It’s just a place of work. We spend our time counting items and packing them into boxes for delivery. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just keep working with the sunlight coming through the door. It is a very old-school way of running a business. We know the tea seller around the corner and he brings us chai twice a day.
