Behari Bartan Bhandar

If you walk through the Main Market in Model Town III, you’ll find us at D-2/13. Behari Bartan Bhandar has been around for quite a few years now. The shop is filled from floor to ceiling with all kinds of pots, pans, and steel utensils. It’s a bit of a maze inside, to be honest. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. Selling kitchen stuff isn’t very glamorous, but everyone needs a good frying pan or a set of plates. We spend most of our time dusting the shelves or helping people find the right size of cooker. It gets really crowded on weekends when everyone is out shopping. We don't do the whole modern retail thing with barcodes and fancy scanners. It’s more about knowing the items and talking to the customers who walk in. Some families have been coming to us for generations, which is a nice feeling. We’ve seen the market change a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed pretty much the same. We just keep the shop open and make sure we have what people are looking for. It’s a lot of heavy lifting sometimes, moving boxes of stainless steel around. But we’re used to the hard work. It’s just what we do here in Model Town.
