Alok Metal Store

If you find yourself in the middle of Sadar Bazar, specifically around Basti Harphool Singh 5707, you will see where we spend our days. The area is always crowded with carts and people moving goods back and forth. Our store is right in the thick of it, filled with all kinds of metal items that people need. It is a noisy place, but we are used to the sounds of the market. We open up early because that is when the first batch of customers starts showing up. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved since metal isn't exactly light. We spend a good portion of the day stacking things and helping people find what they are looking for in the piles. The walls of the shop are lined with shelves that have seen better days, but they hold up the weight just fine. Basti Harphool Singh is a tight spot, so we have to be smart about how we use the space at 5707. We keep a small stool in the corner for when things slow down enough to have a glass of water or a quick snack. It is a simple operation where we know our inventory and we know the locals who stop by. We don't spend much time worrying about the looks of the place; we just focus on the metal and making sure the shop stays stocked for whoever comes in next. It is hard work, but it is what we do every day.
