We are located in Shyamnagar, specifically at Akanta Apan Apartment on the second floor. We use floors 6 and 7 for our classes and office work. It’s right on E.G.P. Road at number 344. Being in the 24 Parganas North area means we get a lot of students who want to join the School Of Indian Hotel Mngt, Kalyani. It’s not a giant campus with a stadium or anything like that. It’s just a few floors in an apartment building where we’ve set up our training rooms. We have a small kitchen area where students practice their skills, and sometimes the smell of whatever they are cooking fills the whole hallway. We try to keep things practical because that’s how the industry is. The chairs are a bit mismatched, and the whiteboards are stained from years of use. Our staff is mostly people who have worked in hotels themselves and decided to teach instead. We spend a lot of time talking to young people about their future and what they need to do to get a job. It’s noisy during the day when the classes are in session, and then it gets really quiet once everyone heads home for the evening. We’ve been in this building for some time now, and we’ve become a regular part of the neighborhood. It’s just a simple school doing its best to help people in West Bengal learn a real trade.
