Basirhat Mahabodhi College Of Education

Our college is situated in Champapukur, which is over in the North 24 Parganas area near Barasat. It is a bit of a journey to get here if you are coming from the main city, but it is a familiar spot for the local people. Basirhat Mahabodhi College Of Education focuses on training teachers, so our students are mostly young adults who want to work in schools later on. The building is fairly simple and sits in a quiet part of the district away from the main road. We have classrooms where the students spend most of their hours listening to lectures and taking notes. It is not a place with high-tech labs or modern architecture. It’s just a functional building with chairs, tables, and whiteboards. We have a small staff who handles all the administration work in a couple of small rooms near the entrance. The atmosphere is generally quite serious because the students have a lot of work to do. Outside the gates, the local life of West Bengal goes on with its usual pace and noise. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do here. We just provide the space and the lessons for those who want to become teachers in the future. It is a straightforward setup. Some days are busier than others, especially when exams are coming up. We just keep the doors open and the classes running for whoever is enrolled.
