Gontermann-Peipers India Ltd.

We’ve been operating out of Pailan on Diamond Harbour Road for a long time. Gontermann-Peipers India Ltd. is a bit of a mouthful, but most people around here just know us as the place out by the post office. It’s a large site and there’s always noise from the machinery and trucks coming in and out. The air smells like metal and oil most days, which is something you just get used to. We have people here who have been working on this floor for decades. It’s hard work and it gets hot, especially during the summer months. We don’t have a fancy corporate lobby with waterfalls or anything like that. It’s an industrial place through and through. The walk from the main road can be a bit long if you’re on foot. Diamond Harbour Road is always packed with traffic, so we see a lot of vehicles passing by our gates. We just focus on getting the production numbers right and making sure things are running the way they should. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady. We take our breaks together and talk about the news or the weather. There’s a lot of history in these walls. We aren’t interested in making big promises. We just show up, do the shifts, and keep the machines moving. It’s what we’ve always done and we take it one day at a time.
